Honda has confirmed the fuel-efficiency figures for the new Elevate, with the CVT automatic rated at 16.61 km/l and the six-speed manual at 15.31 km/l. The updated midsize SUV retains Honda's existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine rather than introducing a new powertrain.
The figures come directly from Honda Cars India's October 6 announcement. Honda says both mileage figures are certified under Rule 115 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, so they should be treated as official certification figures rather than guaranteed real-world economy.
India Today Auto independently reported the same figures on October 7.
Honda Elevate mileage: manual vs CVT
| Powertrain | Certified fuel efficiency |
|---|---|
| 1.5-litre petrol, 6-speed manual | 15.31 km/l |
| 1.5-litre petrol, CVT | 16.61 km/l |
On the certification figures, the CVT delivers 1.30 km/l more than the manual. Real-world fuel economy can be lower or higher depending on traffic, driving style, vehicle load, air-conditioning use and road conditions.
CVT mileage is slightly lower than the previous Elevate
The manual's 15.31 km/l figure is unchanged from the earlier Elevate. The CVT, however, is now rated at 16.61 km/l compared with 16.92 km/l for the previous version.
Honda's original Elevate launch announcement listed fuel efficiency of 15.31 km/l for the manual and 16.92 km/l for the CVT. That makes the new CVT's certified figure 0.31 km/l lower than before.
Honda has not announced a mechanical change intended to deliver a major efficiency gain. The company says the new Elevate continues with its 1.5-litre i-VTEC DOHC petrol engine, producing 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm.
What else changed on the new Elevate?
The update is focused mainly on design, cabin equipment and convenience. Honda has added a redesigned mesh grille, new LED lighting elements, revised 17-inch alloy wheels, ventilated front and rear seats, power-adjustable front seats, a 360-degree camera and an electric parking brake with auto brake hold on relevant variants.
Honda SENSING driver-assistance technology also continues, with Low Speed Follow available on CVT variants. The new Elevate is offered with manual transmission in SV, V, VX, ZX and ZX+ grades, while the CVT is available from the V grade upward.
Price starts at ₹11.80 lakh
The new Honda Elevate starts at ₹11.80 lakh for the SV manual and reaches ₹18.40 lakh for the ZX+ Black CVT, according to Honda. These are ex-showroom Delhi prices, with additional charges applicable to certain pearl and dual-tone exterior colours.
For buyers comparing the manual and automatic primarily on fuel efficiency, the confirmed numbers are straightforward: 15.31 km/l for the manual and 16.61 km/l for the CVT. The automatic remains the more fuel-efficient option on Honda's certification figures, although its rating is slightly lower than that of the previous Elevate CVT.
