MG Hector Tomahawk EV Price, Variants and BaaS Cost

JSW MG Motor India has launched the Hector Tomahawk EV in India with an introductory ex-showroom price starting at Rs 19.49 lakh. The outright-purchase range extends to Rs 23.49 lakh, while the company's Battery-as-a-Service, or BaaS, programme lowers the starting upfront vehicle price to Rs 13.99 lakh plus Rs 4.90 per kilometre in battery rental.

The prices were announced on August 26, 2026. Bookings have opened, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in September, according to launch reports from Autocar India and NDTV.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV variant prices

The five-seat Hector Tomahawk EV is available only in the Essence trim. Buyers wanting seven seats can choose between Excite, Exclusive and Essence.

MG is also offering the electric SUV through BaaS, with prices starting at Rs 13.99 lakh. However, Autocar India reports that MG has not disclosed variant-wise BaaS prices. The Rs 13.99 lakh figure should therefore be treated as the starting BaaS price, not as a confirmed price for every variant or seating configuration.

What the Rs 13.99 lakh BaaS price actually means

The BaaS starting figure is Rs 5.50 lakh lower upfront than the Rs 19.49 lakh entry price for an outright purchase. It is not a Rs 5.50 lakh discount on the total cost of owning the vehicle because the battery is charged separately at Rs 4.90 per kilometre under the BaaS structure.

At the stated rental rate, 10,000 kilometres of driving corresponds to Rs 49,000 in battery rental. A buyer considering BaaS should therefore compare the lower initial vehicle price with expected mileage and the applicable BaaS terms rather than comparing Rs 13.99 lakh directly with Rs 19.49 lakh as if both represented the same purchase arrangement.

There is no previous Hector Tomahawk EV price to compare

The August 26 announcement is a new-model launch rather than a price revision. That means there is no previous official retail price for the Hector Tomahawk EV against which the Rs 19.49 lakh figure can be measured.

Pre-launch reports and estimated prices should not be treated as an earlier selling price. The meaningful price comparison at launch is between the four confirmed outright-purchase variants and the separate BaaS structure.

MG has described the launch prices as introductory and applicable to a limited number of units, according to Autocar India. The number of units covered by the introductory offer and the prices that will apply after it ends have not been disclosed in the reporting reviewed.

What buyers get at the launch price

The Hector Tomahawk EV uses a 69.2kWh battery and a front-mounted electric motor producing 204hp and 310Nm. MG claims a 517km MIDC range on a full charge.

The EV supports DC fast charging at up to 90kW, with MG claiming a 30-to-80 percent charge in around 35 minutes when using a compatible 90kW charger. These specifications are relevant to the price comparison because the same 69.2kWh battery underpins the newly launched electric SUV, while BaaS changes how buyers pay for the battery rather than changing the headline claimed range.

For buyers comparing payment options now, the key figures are therefore Rs 19.49 lakh for the least expensive outright-purchase variant and Rs 13.99 lakh as the starting BaaS vehicle price plus Rs 4.90 per kilometre. Variant-specific BaaS pricing remains one of the details MG has not yet disclosed.
